We then did balloon twisting at a birthday party, and, finally, we went to a benefit for Alex Pinto, a child with Diskeratosis Congenita, a genetically inherited disease.
Diskeratosis Congenita causes many different symptoms, and, for most people with the disease, progressive bone marrow failure. Alex is constantly traveling to hospitals for various treatments that cost his family a lot of money, so a benefit was held to try to help his parents with some of the increasing costs of his medical care.
